Three Huge Tips for Buying and Selling PLR and Where to Find Exclusive, Quality Content
Five years ago, you’d have to pay $500, $1,000 or more to get Private Label Rights to a product. It just wasn’t that common for people to sell rights to their content. Today, the Internet is flooded with low-quality PLR and the good stuff is hard to find. But there are a few diamonds in the rough…
Below you will find three tips for buying and selling private label rights plus a few good resources for finding quality PLR products.
Tip 1: Buy Quality Content
If you’re going to stamp your name on it, you need to work with quality content that you would stake your reputation on. Hint: if a marketer is selling 10 PLR packages for $27, it’s not worth the investment. You’ll just end up with a bunch of crap that you’d be ashamed to sell.
Tip 2: Buy Exclusive Content
You don’t want to sell the same product that hundreds of other marketers are selling. Look for exclusive content that is limited to 100 people or less.
Tip 3: Make Your Product Unique!
Stand out from the crowd by creating your own unique version of the product. Here are a few tips:
- Edit the content: change the name, font size, font color, headings, header, footer, etc. and make sure the spelling and grammar are up to your standards.
- Change the graphics: if you’re handy with PhotoShop or Gimp, you can modify the PSD files to create new graphics. Or you can simply get new graphics. You don’t even need a complete graphics package! You could just get an ecover and use a simple border for your web page.
- Re-write the sales letter: if you’re not the greatest copywriter in the world, don’t sweat it. Just change the headline, stress the benefits in bullet points, and make sure you have a good guarantee and a strong call to action.
Where to Find Quality PLR
I belong to several membership sites where I purchase and resell information products in the IM (Internet Marketing) niche. I also buy exclusive content at the Warrior Forum and I keep an eye out for great deals in the emails that I receive every day. Below you’ll find my top resources for finding quality resell rights.
This is where I add the top 10 products that I purchase each month. Not all come with PLR. But you will find quality products here.
The Warrior Special Offers Forum
You can find great deals in the Warrior Special Offers Forum that you won’t find anywhere else. Most of the content is in the IM niche. But I have seen PLR content in other niches too.
I’ve been a member of this site for years and they always come out with great content. They’ve recently added complete PLR reseller packages with graphics, affiliate tools, and more.
They have a huge library of PLR articles you can use however you want, which includes assembling them into killer products. What really sets Infogoround apart, though, is their packages.
Paul Evans has made a reputation for himself by offering excellent material, and this monthly membership site is no exception. The material is great, and you’ll get fresh stuff every single month.
So there you have it…
I’ve given you three hot tips on buying and selling PLR and I’ve given you five excellent resources for finding exclusive, quality content. Isn’t it time you get your first product online?

Thanks for the tips! I am working on turning a public domain work into a product. I will be updating the core message to resonate with today’s market. These tips give me an idea on how to overcome a roadblock I’ve had lately. Thanks again.
Derrick-Thanks for the great information. I’m fairly new to all this PLR info and have way to many questions to ask. How do you decide what is the best content to purchase?
Very helpful advice! I’ve been struggling with internet marketing for quite a while. What is your best program for setting up your sites to sell PLR content? Also I have a time issue with working a full-time job. What’s your best recommendation for an easy, newbie-friendly passive income program? Thanks, Derrick, you’re the best!
Hi Vickie,
The only passive income I know of comes after putting in some hard work.
A few hours a day adds up to a lot if you stick to a plan. Otherwise, you’ll be right where you are next month.
I created, use exclusively, and highly recommend Surefire Profit System
A very interesting and informative article.
Hi Derrick,
Very informative and great leads for content. But… I think there’s an error in your link to Special Report Club.
Edwin Copps
Thanks Edwin. Fixed it!
Derrick
Dude! Crazy good information as usual. I have been looking to sell PLR articles and needed to know that.
I have come to rely on your sage advice.
Patrick
How do you know if the PLR packages you get offered for FREE are any good. Can you work on the assumption that is they look good and you would benifit yourself from them that everyone else will want them?
Thanks for the tips I’m going to give them a go.
Hi Anne,
I knew that question would arise
I could write a 10-page report on that subject alone. But I’ll try to cover the basics here real quick.
1. If everyone is selling it, you’re too late. Search Google for keywords in the headline and you’ll see how many people are already selling the same product.
2. If it’s too good to be true. It probably is. Don’t buy into the mega-package with dozens of products for $47. You may be able to salvage one or two products. But refer to the first tip above.
3. Look for exclusive rights to PLR that you can modify and call your own. I look for products that’s only being sold to 100 people or fewer.
4. Read the report and/or watch the videos. Did you have an “ah-ha” moment? Did you learn a lot? If you did, chances are your customers will thank you.
5. Does the sales letter make you want to buy? If not, you will have some work ahead of you if you want to make any sales.
6. Focus on the actual content. It’s common for marketers to “sell” the flashy graphics and forget about the quality of the product.
That’s all I can think of right now. Hope that helps!
Derrick
As always great info Derrick – personally I prefer to create my own content from scratch (from one of my niches – since it is so specialized) and in the past have only re-written cheap PLR for some articles in some of my other niches.
I will definitely be using some of these sites moving forward
Thanks
Al
Thanks. PLR can be very useful if one finds good quality materials. You have just given us useful information on where to find such high quality PLR materials. That will improve our internet marketing resources.
PLR materials could be applied in various ways. One can convert such materials into information products such as e-books.reports. manuals. etc. It is necessary to edit the PLR materials and do some tweaking to ensure originality.
PLR materials could also be turned into articles to drive traffic to your website and also to make your blog rich in content.
Indeed PLR materias are great assets to internet marketers if well handled.

Yes I notice the crap, even in Warrior, A better forum is digitalpoint.com
Thanks and I check the entire list you offer…

So how many of us order even the good stuff and yet it occupies space on our hard drive, waiting for the right moment to come to life that never seems to arrive.
Is there a group called PLR Anonymous?
Chaplain Paul Slater
Hi Paul,
I would have to join PLR Anonymous myself. I have about 100 gigs of stuff I planned to sell someday. But the more you look at it, the more you realize it’s 90% junk.
My advice is to NOT try to make money with your PLR. Use it as a list-building machine. Set it up, pay affiliates 100% to promote it, and use an exit popup to capture leads. Or put a higher priced upsell on the back end to justify a squeeze page.
I use PLR products on occasion and I nornailly rewrite it myself so that I don’t have duplicate content, as I’m sure you know this can be very time consuming. My Question is can you recommend a good spinner, I would add my own content also.
SmittyX, the kahunadude
Hi Smitty,
I don’t use spinner myself, but I bet you can find some on Google. Try “article spinner” or “content spinner”
I am jus ta sponge absorbing it all like my 3 year old little girl (JAZZ). Lots to learn!
Thanks for the info. Looking forward to more!
Great article Derrick. I’ve just twittered it to my twitter.com/affilorama twitter followers. I totally agree with everything you say. Another good thing is to add bonuses to plr products to increase your conversions (e.g. get an elancer to write a couple of 15 page exciting sounding mini-ebooks).
All the best,
Mark
Thanks for the tips! These tips give me an idea on how to overcome a roadblock I’ve had lately. Thanks again.
What if the content you need is in an unusual niche and it’s hard to find good PLR on it?
How hard is it to tweak something that’s “close” but not quite right?
Ooops, I guess that’s two questions, LOL.
Hi Nancy,
If it exists, you can find it on Google. Just search for “niche keyword private label rights” or “niche keywords PLR”.
If you’re talking about tweaking your sales copy, you need to split-test with Google Optimizer. It’s free.
Derrick, your info is so useful and your posts are well written. It’s obvious that you care about helping people succeed.
The hardest part about PLR is finding the time to change it so it is unique.
What is your opinion about RRFortune?:
http://ResellRightsFortune.com/goto/main/charlie
Thanks
Hi Charlie,
Re: The hardest part about PLR is finding the time to change it so it is unique.
If that’s not what you’re good at or you don’t have the time or patience to learn, I suggest you either hire someone or get a partner.
You can hire someone at Rentacoder.com super cheap. The secret is to find a product that is exactly what you want (design, formatting, etc.) and show that to your outsource worker. Same goes for graphics and copywriting.
You can also partner with someone who is good at editing and compiling ebooks, but hasn’t really done much with it. They do the work, you do the marketing and you split the profits.
Re: What is your opinion about RRFortune?
You’ll find that most quality resell rights membership sites carry most of the same stuff. The only difference being niche products. I only sell and focus on IM products at Resell Rights Express.
I got started selling PLR products in June 09 with a website created for me by VinceTan and the MegaRedPacket group. I haven’t marketed it very well as it is only one of 8 websites I had built at the time, and I am still working on a membership site which will consolidate all of my “Unlimited” sites. Right now they look like all the other MRP sites created over the summer, so your Tip 3: Make Your Product Unique! really hit home. As soon as I figure out FTP, I’ll start downloading the whole library of products and start correcting all the errors I’ve noticed. Thanks! Cory
Hi,
I have seen or tried several of places you recommend and they are good. But several times I still needed to make ‘corrections’ (more than jsut spelling).
You really need to find someone who has the same interests as you and can give you material that is really ocked into those interests.
Okay you said you will answer a question mine is this. I am trying to start a web site of my own that offers Resell products but I am having a hard time figuring out A GREAT domain name . Since you also deal with MRR RSR how do you decide on A Great Domain name. And when I get one with unlimited subdomains can I se them as my article titles.
Hi Garrd,
What you need to do first, is define you USP. How are you going to be different and stand out from the crowd?
For example, I wrote down all the problems with other resell rights membership sites that I’ve seen and created a new site that addressed those issues. Watch this video to see what I mean.
Once you figure out what your unique selling position will be, it will be easier to pick your domain name.
Your modules and video tutorials are very helpful. I found that your site was among the better sites on affiliate marketing. Your affiliate opportunity seems excellent for people starting an affiliate business. I will pursue it shortly. Thank you for all your efforts.
Your link to the SpecialREportClub is broken. Hast http://in twice.
Other than that everything looks really good. I have been a member of several of them.
Thanks Derrick. I am more inclined as a writer to go for stuff from the public domain. The difficulty is using U.S. material published before 1920. I scratch my head and wonder what info could be written about what subject 90 years ago that would still be current today! But at least it would be unique!

Dave West, Linton Press
Thanks for your 3 hot tips! These tips give me an idea how to use PLR products effectively.
Derrick, I have a request. Is it possible for you to write an article for my blog as a guest post which will be answering these questions?
What exactly is PLR?
What are the Pros and Cons of PLR?
What are the biggest mistakes most people make in PLR?
What to look out for in PLR before purchasing it?
Regards,
Alvin Tan
Sure Alvin, shoot me an email or get me on Skype.
Derrick
Hi Derrick,
great info. That’s always been my biggest problem. Where to get really good quality content. Mainly article content. I am also a member of the Warrior Forum and a few of the places you mentioned. You are 100% right. The points you made are exactly what one needs to do with PLR. I use article spinners but I spend about 45min to an hour making changes to them in order to make them more unique. Even though Its limited to like 100 people i still strive for uniqueness. Looking forward to more great posts from you.
thanks and very intresting……
Hi Derrick,
Thanks for the 3 tips and for the location sites of quality products.
Great infomation.

Hi Derrick,
Great tips, but once you have made the PLR your own with new graphics and copy, how do you get traffic to it if you have no list? I realise that you can build a squeeze page to grab emails and names and build a list that way, but how do you get traffic to that? Kinda like the chicken and the egg isn’t it?
Hi John,
You can set up a squeeze page or an exit popup and then get affiliates to promote for 100% commission. Find other marketers who are selling similar products and set up ad swaps.
Focus on building the list and your business will flourish…
Such tips are most helpful especially on where to find good plr. These days, when there is so much of duplicate content floating around, information on quality content sources is very much appreciated.
I have faced frustration on many occasions as some of the plr that I bought appreared on many sites during Google searches.
These means that you have to spend a lot of time researching and re-writing it if you plan to use it
Great post as allways with some info that will help me out.
Yes Derrick,
PLR is one of the best ways to churn out your own products. Making changes is the key if you want to make full use of PLR products.
